A FEW GOOD QUESTIONS

Before you
say hello.

What is Ankita?

Ankita is an open-source personal AI workspace. Its desktop app brings chat, files, terminal and browser tools together, with a floating companion that shows what your assistant is doing.

Which computers can run it?

The current desktop release is available for Windows x64, as an installer or a portable executable. macOS and Linux downloads are not available from this launch page.

Do I need an AI subscription?

You choose your provider. Ankita supports GitHub Copilot, Groq, Kilo and OpenAI-compatible providers. Some models need your own credentials, and provider pricing, free-model availability and rate limits can change.

What happens to my files and API keys?

The desktop app stores its configuration locally. Content you send to a model is processed by your selected provider under that provider’s terms. This website’s text-file preview stays in your browser; it does not upload your file.

Is the website demo connected to an AI?

The companion above is an interactive product preview. The tool sequences are illustrative; dropping a supported text file reads an excerpt locally. Download the desktop app for actual AI conversations and tools.

Can I contribute or follow development?

Absolutely. The source, issues, release notes and setup instructions are on GitHub. Ankita is MIT-licensed, and contributions are welcome.
