The floating companion

Keep it close#

Minimize or hide the desktop to reveal the companion. Hover the wake strip and click Ankita to open it. Open desktop restores the main window without losing the selected teammate’s draft.

Overview rolls tool activity upward through two lines. Open conversation shows the full tool arguments and output. The teammate area shows up to four avatars; additional teammates remain available in the main desktop and conversation selector.

Feed it a file#

Drop a supported document or image onto the selected mascot, or use the attachment button. Its mouth opens as the file approaches, then it chews while the actual reader works. A success or failure reaction follows the reader’s result.

The extracted content becomes an attachment. Review it before sending. Switching teammates during a read keeps the draft and attachment with their original teammate.

Capture an ordinary webpage#

Capture reads document text; it does not send a model request. Browser-internal pages, extension stores and inaccessible frames or viewers cannot be captured. The capture helper is separate from the browser automation connection.

• Open Browser helper beside the desktop mascot or in the island’s settings.
• Choose Open helper folder. In Chrome or Edge’s Extensions page, enable Developer mode and use Load unpacked to select that folder.
• Copy the pairing code from Ankita and paste it into the helper popup.
• Drag a mascot onto an HTTP/HTTPS page. Review the captured text attachment in the original conversation.

Motion on your terms#

The mascot reacts to thinking, tools, searches, approvals, errors and completion. Hidden mascots pause rendering. Your operating system’s reduced-motion preference skips larger swallowing motion. Sound controls persist locally.
